What's UPF?
- UPF stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor. It's similar to the SPF rating used in sunscreen.
- UPF Rating of 50+ means that less than 2.5% of ultraviolet rays can pass through the fabric.
- Because the UPF rating comes from the tight weave of the fabric, its effectiveness won't diminish with time.
Was a little skeptical at first about the long sleeve in the summer, but the air flows through as if you aren’t wearing anything at all. Love the look, the fit bit as an extra small, not what I was used to ordering but I fit really well and I have to say that I appreciated the snug fit for it reduces the flapping that occurs when you wear less snug clothes going at higher speed. It’s different from everything else out there and I love the feel of the fabric. Looking forward to receiving my “Wind Vest” in small (ref# 2761634) so I can transition into fall where the temp varies within an hour!
I ordered this in a flurry of updating my cycling clothing a month before going on a cycle trip in France: my old kit was 10+ years old, mostly in good shape but not great fit for me, now. My hope was that new fabrics and more innovative design (effective at SPF and cooling, better fit for a shorter-waisted woman, and also attractive) would improve my enjoyment of the rides and trip. And they did! The snugness took a little getting used to, psychologically: I am 5’9”, 165, and 50 years old. However, the fabric kept me cool on the hotter training days I had here in Minnesota. We didn’t see that kind of heat and humidity in Brittany but we did have sun (or dispersed rays in overcast skies) that left a hell of a tan/burn line on the space between the cuff and my glove. The jersey’s fabric protected the skin it was on, though! I love the colors and pattern - the speckly aspect of it easily hid a few broth spatters from a lunch of moules frites we had on day 2. I love this jersey and am sad that summer is over. I have to wait awhile to wear it again!
5'5", 115 lbs/32D; XS fits skin tight (but in a good way). Royal blue color is flattering on fair skin. It's so hard to find long sleeved bike jerseys that are meant for sunshine, not cold weather.
I love this since I always get super sunburned on my arms. It’s a bit tight and weird at first wearing long sleeve in the summer, but I’ve gotten used to it. The design and fit is great! Would give 5 stars, but the price is a little hard to swallow.
I recently bought a long sleeve summer weight jersey and liked it so much that I bought a 2nd one in the palm design. Wish I had discovered these jerseys years ago when I started cycling regularly.
