For cycling bibs and shorts, the HIP MEASUREMENT is the most crucial factor. Measure around the WIDEST POINT of the hips/bum. If you are between sizes or petite (5'3" or under), we recommend SIZING DOWN for a compressive fit. A snug fit is crucial to performance. Check out our FIT GUIDE for more detailed instructions, or pop your measurements into the fit calculator above for a personalized recommendation! (Please note, the fit guide requires chest, waist and hip measurements.)
I searched long and hard for a pair of MTB shorts with a shorter inseam. When I found MFF I was so excited to find a brand that sold cute and functional MTB clothes for women! I'm 5'3" with a 29in waist and 42in hip and ordered a 29. These shorts are the perfect inseam length, however they are really tight on my legs and pretty loose in the waist. I was a little surprised that shorts designed for athletic women were not cut for athletic legs! Overall I like the style, I just wish the leg opening was like1/2 an inch wider. I know it's hard to fit everyone, but it seems alot of people are reporting the same issues. Maybe a yoga type waist band would solve the waist gapping issue?
I've had a considerably hard time finding shorts that don't ride up. I'm a fit person but my inner thighs often pull shorts up and I have to keep adjusting. These shorts have given me the freedom of walking without that awkward adjustment. Great for hikes, bikes, and super cute to boot! love 'em.
All the reviews are true: waist is way too big. I consider myself “average” 5’5” with 39” hips and 29” waist. The sizing chart recommended that I got size 27. I was soo excited for these, they were high waisted, have pockets with zippers, and they’re great quality. So these shorts are loose on my waist and SUPER tight everywhere else. I could barely get my hands in my pockets. Feels like my thighs will rip the seams when I’m sitting lol. Womp womp.
I really wanted to love these for riding! But I think I am a bit too tall and curvy to make it work. I’m 5’9” and about 180lb The shorts hit me at the widest part of my thighs and when I ride they also ride up like crazy. However, I love them so much that I wear them as casual, everyday shorts. I might use them for a casual ride like to a friends house but anything more than a couple km of riding is just not comfortable :(
I had high hopes for these because the MFF bibs are so magical, but they fit me really weirdly. I went with the recommended size, and they were huge in the waist (probably two sizes too big) and tight in my thigh in an unflattering way. Sure, they're stretchy, but it didn't do me any favors comfort- or fit-wise. I'm 5'9" and have a 30" waist and 42" hips. I desperately want solid commuter shorts that can work on and off the bike (not overtly athletic apparel), but these aren't the ones for me.
