BUILD YOUR BASE
With just enough padding to keep you comfortable in the saddle-but not so much that you look and feel bulky-the Foundations Liner Short glides smoothly under clothing or cycling layers. Made with ultra-high-wicking fabric and breathable mesh panels, this durable base layer efficiently wicks away moisture and helps reduce chafing, even on the sweatiest rides. Use the Foundations Liner Shorts to cushion your commute, buffer your MTB ride, or pad your Peleton workout. No matter where you are headed, we'll help you build your base.
Make it a match set with our compatible Foundations Sports Bra.
Foundations is our feminine solution to performance undergarments, and it all started with a hunt for the perfect cycling shorts. For most rides, cycling bibs and shorts are overkill in the padding department, but no chamois at all is just plain painful! We wanted something in between full-on bike shorts and unpadded Lycra, but we couldn't find our dream liner shorts anywhere. So we made our own!

For cycling bibs and shorts, the HIP MEASUREMENT is the most crucial factor. Measure around the WIDEST POINT of the hips/bum. If you are between sizes or petite (5'3" or under), we recommend SIZING DOWN for a compressive fit. A snug fit is crucial to performance. Check out our FIT GUIDE for more detailed instructions, or pop your measurements into the fit calculator above for a personalized recommendation! (Please note, the fit guide requires chest, waist and hip measurements.)
I hate riding without any sort of chamois., but I hate the way they feel under my jeans or pants feel when I’m commuting. Bc of this ,I’m always caring around spare clothes to change into to let my bottom breath. With these liners there is no need to do that. I can wear these babies all day if I need to and be super comfortable in them for hours. Truest a game changer.
I got this cycling under-short to wear under regular shorts/clothes while riding my cruiser, and it kept me comfortable all day cruising around Newport Beach for several days while vacationing. I was on the fence about spending the money for this item, but it was well worth it. The material is sleek, smooth and fits well under regular clothes so you can still feel stylish while stopping off for lunch, shopping, sight seeing.
Nice feel and light, but feel they might roll down. Hits a little high in the torso section
I’m 5’1” so I sized down to a small like the fit guide mentions but they were WAY too small so I exchanged (which was quick and easy!) for a medium which seemed to fit okay until I actually put them on before a ride and the waistband keep rolling down and settling in a tight bunch on my stomach that I couldn’t ride in these :(
I do think the padding is a perfect amount for a liner short I was looking for but has some issues for me.
I really wanted these shorts to work for me as having a shorter inseam liner and thinner chamois was exactly what I was looking for. But, the fit is all wrong. I have an hour glass figure and most clothes fit me true to size (180lb, 5'5", L/30 pants), and I wear a M in rapha cycling shorts. I used the calculator and found a Large would be best, so I placed my order for those. They arrived and I had to check the tag because the large looked like a small. I confirmed they were a large and tried them on, but they were so tight and the elastic was not stretchy enough to make it all the way over my butt. So I ordered the extra large. They still looked small, but more reasonable and they actually fit so I took them out for a gravel ride. And oof. They rolled up my thigh to the top of my leg and sat there as a tight bunch, making it super uncomfortable to ride, and actually restricted my movement. I'm not sure I can return because they've been worn and aren't bibs (so maybe not covered under the happiness guarantee). I don't think I can continue to wear these shorts at all, so I may have to donate/give them away. Really bummed about these liners.
