Foundations is our feminine solution to performance undergarments, and it all started with a hunt for the perfect cycling shorts. For most rides, cycling bibs and shorts are overkill in the padding department, but no chamois at all is just plain painful! We wanted something in between full-on bike shorts and unpadded Lycra, but we couldn't find our dream liner shorts anywhere. So we made our own!

For cycling bibs and shorts, the HIP MEASUREMENT is the most crucial factor. Measure around the WIDEST POINT of the hips/bum. If you are between sizes or petite (5'3" or under), we recommend SIZING DOWN for a compressive fit. A snug fit is crucial to performance. Check out our FIT GUIDE for more detailed instructions, or pop your measurements into the fit calculator above for a personalized recommendation! (Please note, the fit guide requires chest, waist and hip measurements.)
It seems the legs are rolling up which is a bit frustrating but I love the light weight and the air vents.
At first, I LOVED these shorts. The high waist and fabric are dreamy. I needed something for long cycling commute and short mtb rides. I thought I found my holy grail! Unfortunately after a recent ride (maybe wore them twice), the plastic grippers started falling off and the legs were rolling up. Design is great but I'm disappointed. Makes me worried for my new Every shorts and bibs. The gripper seems similar....
These shorts fit perfectly and are well constructed. Now I can ride pain-free!
I ordered the same size as my regular shorts from here (an XL) and they are perfect and much lighter weight. I am a fairly consistent 12/31 in pants and 5’10”.
I wanted to love these. Unfortunately I had the same problem several other reviewers had. The fabric and feel is light and silky, and I love the mesh vented band, but they roll down over my belly and roll up my thighs. This might not be a problem for smaller riders but if you have any booty, belly and thighs beware. And I waited just over 30 days so no return option.
