Inspired by our best-selling Essential Short, The Essential Cycling Pant is a full-length cycling legging designed for long rides. This highly compressive cycling pant that stays put and performs at the highest level, yet provides easy access for mid-ride bathroom breaks. The super flattering, yoga-inspired waistband stays up all day without squeezing or pinching, and mesh paneling at the back of the knee provides ventilation as well as chic style lines.
The Essential Cycling Pant is our newest staple in Machines' All Day Compression Fabric, made for all-day wear, and features our fan-favorite chamois graded for 6+ hours in the saddle. As always, we put fit first and this product was developed to perform at every shape, with sizing from X-Small through XXX-Large.
We challenged ourselves to create the highest-performing cycling pant for women without the need for bib straps that some riders find uncomfortable or inconvenient. And it was a challenge! Most non-bib products available for women are prone to a couple of common issues: they dig in at our soft midsections, begin to slip and sag after a few hours in the saddle, and most frustrating of all, allow the chamois to shift against the saddle which can cause saddle sores, chafing, and discomfort. By focusing on compression and superior fit, we think we hit the mark!
- The 27" Inseam makes for a versatile fit on many body shapes. The Essential Pant hits slightly above the ankle on taller riders, and full length on those who are petite.
- Machines' All Day Compression fabric is a soft, matte, and supports the body's curves with mid- level compression. It offers less compression than our Signature Compression fabric, for a slightly more forgiving wear.
- The Essential Pant features the same fan-favorite chamois as Machines’ iconic Endurance Bib. It’s graded for 6+ hours in the saddle, bacteriostatic to inhibit infections, and wide enough for most women’s sit bones.
- The yoga-inspired waistband is revolutionary: compressive enough to stay up without sagging, but soft enough to eliminate elastic bands that dig when in the riding position.
- Machines’ iconic paneled construction combines style and a flattering sleek silhouette.
- UPF 50+ Sun Protection
- Highest quality European fabric is compressive, moisture-wicking, and silky soft to the touch.

To get the longest life out of your garment, we recommend washing in cold water with a mild detergent and hanging it to dry. If you need to toss it in the dryer in a pinch, that's okay! Just keep this to a minimum. Overtime, heat can degrade the yar, resulting in lost compression and durability.

Compression helps eliminate chaffing and keeps the chamois locked in place after hours in the saddle.
For cycling bibs and shorts, the HIP MEASUREMENT is the most crucial factor. Measure around the WIDEST POINT of the hips/bum. If you are between sizes or petite (5'3" or under), we recommend SIZING DOWN for a compressive fit. A snug fit is crucial to performance. Let me SAY this, these cycling pants are worth EVERY DOLLAR that I paid for them. I was very hesitant to pay for them, I thought and I thought and I talked myself out them multiple times. I kept coming back to them. I read every review that was posted because I am trying to justify why I should pay this much. Here I am today happy as I can be…… when I tell you a game changer for me.. Here me game changer… They are super compressed that is very comfortable, NOW they are a little hard to get in so you have to wiggle in them like a pair of hose. Once you get them on the fit for me was perfect with measurements I followed. Okay the Chamois is aMzing..YOU will NOT feel like you are wearing a HUGGIES diaper or a pad, they cycling pants are very cool, after your ride and you are cooling down, you don’t even realized still have them on. These are my go to pants, I am afraid that I am going to wear and wash the life out off them. I will be getting the BIB ASAP… Do I recommend these CYCLING PANTS.. YES I DO…. Enjoy The Ride..🚴🏾♀️🚴🏾♀️🚴🏾♀️

Trust me you want these! No, you NEED these!!
I prefer the bibs. They fit great everywhere but my waist, I had to constantly pull up and adjust them during my ride. I ended up ordering the bib version. The chamois is the same as my bib shorts so no issue there.
I sent these back because I could not pull them up past my knees. I wear size small in almost every brand of cycling shorts, But there was no way I was going to be able to get these on.
I'm rating this on the basis of how these felt at mile 60 of yesterday's 84-mile ride. At mile 84, they would have gotten a 1. The chamois just created a sensitive spot, which I still feel today. I could reposition a little but not enough. I have to admit that I do have trouble finding bottoms that work for me; for me, it's a high-priced competitor, who is out of stock of tights now.. I have the MFF bib knickers in a small, and they work okay. I only use them on the trainer because bibs work better on trainers, and I've decided I don't want to disrobe for outside nature breaks smymore. For the leggings, I first ordered an x-small, based on MFF charts. I gave up trying to put on the xs due to the difficulty getting the diagonal seams and tight, wide waistband past my butt. I exchanged for the small. I rode the small leggings/tights twice on the trainer before the 84-mile ride. They had stretched a lot since the first time I tried them. I love MFF tops, but the bottoms have a ways to go, imo.
