Introducing The MVP. A totally new product that will change how you kit.
This is not a winter cycling tight. This is not a knicker. This is the MVP: so good you might just bench your other players.
The Most Versatile Pant is just that: versatile. It is an ankle-length bib pant designed to take you through long months of transitional weather. After all, the hottest weeks of summer and the coldest weeks of winter only last so long and often leave you wondering how to dress for the other 10 months out of the year. Perfect for SoCal winters, Norcal summers, and everything in between, the MVP is meant to be worn anywhere from 50-75 degrees F. We think dressing for the cooler months should be just as simple as dressing for summer: bibs or pants, jersey, and vest or jacket. Easy.
Besides innovating how you kit up for a long ride, The MVP opens up a whole new world of wearing kit as off-the-bike attire. Riding to meet friends for coffee or dinner? The MVP transitions seamlessly to "real life" and might just have people asking where you got your new leggings. We think bike-style and life-style should be interchangeable.

Notes about fit
- For cycling bibs and shorts, the HIP MEASUREMENT is the most crucial factor.
- Measure around the WIDEST POINT of the hips/bum.
- If you are between sizes or petite, we recommend SIZING DOWN for a compressive fit.
- A snug fit is crucial to performance.
- Check out our FIT GUIDE for more detailed instructions, or pop your measurements into the fit calculator above for a personalized recommendation! (Please note, the fit guide requires chest, waist and hip measurements.)
When I first tried on these tights I thought I might need to send them back. I am usually an XL, but have recently lost weight. When I checked the size chart it said L and the XL was not in stock anyway so I took a chance (I am 5'8" and 160 lbs.). The bib tights fit like a cat suit - but the cut is very flattering, way better than the shorts/knee warmer combo I pretty much always wear here in San Francisco. I worried the shoulder straps might be too short for me but I have done numerous rides in these tights and they are so comfortable! I do daily rides of about 20 miles with longer rides (up to 100 miles) on the weekends. The fabric is light but still warm enough for typical foggy mornings (50 degrees and windy) and I can wear them into the afternoon in Marin, though past about 85 degrees they stop being comfortable. My only complaint is the chamois - it is inexplicably wide and bulky in the crotch - like wearing an overnight maxi pad! I use tons of chamois cream and manage to do all right even on 100+ rides but I do long for the lower profile of a high-end Pearl Izumi chamois. Overall I love these tights and will probably buy another pair, they look and feel better than anything I have ever owned for riding.
I’ve worn the bib tights once and it the temperature was about 60-65 degrees. They were very comfortable and I particularly like the cut of the chamois and inseam. There’s no seam hitting the crease of the leg, so no rubbing! There’s a mesh panel behind the knee that I was aware of while riding, but I think this will soften up after a few washes. I’m 5’6”, 145 lbs and the medium fit well.
Machines for Freedom stood out to me when I was looking for a set of bib tights - they are the only ones who make bib tights that not a winter weight - and they are amazing! Love the fit and design of the jersey.
I have owned a pair of mvps for awhile now (I think since 2016) and it took me a long time to finally admit that they were not for me. They look AMAZING on me and i love the wide chamois but that "high density pelvic track" is way too much padding for my vulva (or "soft tissue" as the industry says). The pants sit in my closet and are always my last bibs I go for, but this year i tried to wear them more often. It only takes me about 10 miles into a ride before I'm wiggling in my saddle to try to get that thick center padding situated under my vulva with no success. A little sad to admit this but will forever love MFF as a brand and everything they do to transform this industry.
I was surprised at how well these bibs fit and how comfortable the chamois is. Somehow they have created a bib that allows me to stay on the bike longer, but also that I don't mind wearing when I am not on the bike, so I'm not dreading the lunch break on those full day rides. I also was impressed with the size calculator. I submitted my measurements and ordered the size suggested. The bibs fit me perfectly.
